  • Verbum Journal – the first desktop-published magazine devoted to the creative applications of digital media (Verbum, Inc., 1987-1991)

Verbum Interactive –  the nascent industry’s first true multimedia product: a double CD-ROM featuring a pioneering interface design, stunning graphics, animation and video, and music from artists such as Graham Nash, Todd Rundgren and Skinny Puppy. Sony, Macromedia, GTE and other firms participated in the development of Verbum Interactive, which inspired many of the early multimedia titles (Verbum and GTE Imagitrek, 1991)

  • Step-by-Step Electronic Design – conceived and developed 16-page full color newsletter with detailed, project-based instruction on desktop design; produced 24 monthly issues for Dynamic Graphics 1987 – 1989.
  • Making Art on the Macintosh II – the first major Macintosh graphics guidebook (Scott Foresman, 1989)
  • Verbum Electronic Art and Design Series – 5 large format books on Digital Painting, Electronic Page Design, Postscript Illustration, Digital Typography and Scanned Imagery (1990, M&T Books)
  • The Gray Book – step-by-step guide to Designing in Black and White on PCs (1990, Ventana Press, over 100,000 sold, several foreign editions)
  • The Desktop Color Book – full color guide to desktop publishing developed in partnership with Radius, Pantone, QMS and Kodak (MIS Press, over 120,000 copies sold)
  • The Photo CD Book – full color guide to Photo CD technology and products, developed in partnership with Kodak (1992, Verbum Books)
  • Multimedia Power Tools – the “bible” of the multimedia field with a CD-ROM dynamically linked to the 650-page book’s contents, featuring step-by-step animated instruction (1993, 2nd ed. 1995, Random House, several foreign editions)
  • The Official Photo CD Handbook – book with CD-ROM and Portfolio Photo CD disk, developed in partnership with Kodak (1995 Peachpit Press, several foreign editions)
  • Peter Norton’s PC Guru – a double CD-ROM with state-of-the-art animation, video, and hypertext content covering virtually all aspects of PC usage with 2200 annotated web links, updatable from companion website (1998, MediaX and Verbum)
